“click here to buy and sell your friends”
“add the compare people application!”
just two examples. i have a problem with this. i have problems with this, actually.
i have problems with the “find out who’s interested” application as well.
“click here to buy and sell your friends” - but not even for real money. for play money. play the game, where your friends become mere objects for you to buy and sell! everyone has a price! its based in supply and demand! if no one wants to pay money for you, you must be useless! money, money, money, things, things, things. thats what really matters.
“compare your friends!” who’s funniest? who’s craziest!? WHO WOULD YOU FUCK?
why would you want to compare people, of all the things to compare. you want to AGAIN, objectify and classify your friends. but thats not REALLY why you added the application is it? no, you added it because you want to hear things about yourself. face the facts, you added compare people, just to collect positive information about yourself. you are jacking yourself off in public. its disgusting. and heres the best part: compare people only give you the positive info. it doesn’t tell you “your friend said you were less sexy than this person.” why? because you don’t want to hear it. and you know you won’t hear it, because thats what the application is for. and thats why its so damn popular. facebook is becoming a self-absorbed vanity fair.
“are you interested in me?” is a simple question to ask. but somehow, through internet communications, it has become a simple process, similar to an anonymous suggestion box, i suppose. heres how it works. you have to use the “are you interested” application to tell someone you’re interested. and the only way that person will hear that you’re interested, is if they click your button and tell you that THEY are interested as well. this process eliminates the public embarrassment of rejection. it causes social decay. its a testament to the cowardice our generation is being raised in.
